The goal of an Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing is designed to remove fine lines and wrinkles to dramatically improve the appearance of skin. It achieves this goal by ablating the outermost layer of skin (epidermis) to reveal softer and more youthful skin below. In addition, Collagen production has been to shown to increase providing additional skin tightening and smoothing.
Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing is performed as an Outpatient procedure in our Riverstone Clinic’s Laser Treatment Suite by Dr. Kuhlman-Wood, a board-certified Plastic Surgeon. Please note that this procedure is performed under a local anesthetic. Prior to your procedure, a Laser Assessment will be completed by Dr. Kuhlman-Wood. During this time, she will discuss your medical history, including previous surgeries, present and past health problems, medications, as well as nutritional and herbal supplements you are taking or have taken. Additionally, Dr. Kuhlman-Wood will perform a complete skin assessment and share with you the possible risks, expected outcomes, and determine if Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing is the right procedure for you.
A Period of Recovery
It is important to note that there will be a period of recovery following an Erbium Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure. Dr. Kuhlman-Wood will outline the appropriate post-treatment care during your recovery stage necessary to achieving your optimal result.
