Radio-Frequency Microneedling employs very small needles that enter the skin from a sub millimeter depth up to 3 millimeters depending on the location of the body. This variable depth allows for customized treatments to delicate areas, such as under the eyes, the forehead and check bones. The needles create micro-wounds that stimulate collagen formation much like standard Microneedling. However, the difference is the use of Radio-frequency to tighten the skin as well.
Can the PiXel8-RF be used on all skin types?
Yes. Unlike our laser treatments, the PiXel8-RF uses only radio frequency energy. The microneedles deliver precise RF energy into the dermis tissue. With virtually no thermal damage to the epidermis, the Pixel8-RF system almost eliminates the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in darker skin types. As a result, it is safe to use on all skin types and all colors of skin.
Is there downtime after the procedure?
One of the greatest things about the Pixel8-RF Microneedling system is patients usually experience minimal to no downtime and have few restrictions following their treatment. It is expected that the treated area may be red for up to 24 hours. If, however, a deeper or more aggressive treatment is required to achieve your desired outcome, your downtime may increase.
